Controlling Pollution from the Source: Application of Methane Sensors in Oil and Gas Recovery

Policies related to oil and gas recovery

After the implementation of the "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants from Oil Storage Tanks", "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants from Oil Transport", and "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants from Gas Stations", the annual VOC emissions can be reduced by about 175000 tons, and the saved oil products can generate about 810 million yuan in economic benefits.

Gas station oil and gas recovery system

The gas station oil and gas recovery system consists of an unloading oil and gas recovery system, a sealed gasoline storage system, a refueling oil and gas recovery system, an online monitoring system, and an oil and gas emission treatment device. An effective oil and gas recovery system can significantly reduce VOCs emissions from gas stations, with a recovery efficiency of over 90%. However, the daily maintenance and management of facilities will directly affect their efficiency. Currently, there are problems such as aging of oil and gas recovery facilities and untimely maintenance in the oil and gas recovery system of gas stations. The online monitoring system for oil and gas recovery at gas stations can effectively monitor whether the gas-liquid ratio and other performance indicators of the oil and gas recovery system are normal, ensuring the normal operation of the oil and gas recovery system and facilitating daily operation and supervision. As a component of the monitoring system, methane sensors can be installed at the inlet and outlet of the recovery device to monitor the gas concentration entering and leaving the recovery device, assist in evaluating the working effect of the recovery device, and provide feedback adjustment to improve the efficiency of oil and gas recovery.
