The Ministry of Education has announced the results of the registration and approval of undergraduate majors in ordinary higher education institutions for the year 2024. Our university has been approved for the undergraduate major of Intelligent Perception Engineering and plans to start enrolling students in 2025.
Artificial intelligence technology is crossing and integrating with disciplines such as precision instruments, optoelectronic information, the Internet of Things, and automation in an unprecedented manner, giving rise to an innovative model of "artificial intelligence+X" composite professional training. The aim is to break down disciplinary barriers and cultivate composite talents with knowledge and innovation capabilities in multiple fields, in order to meet the needs of rapid technological iteration and industrial upgrading.

Relying on 18 national, provincial, and municipal research platforms such as the National Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneity Integration and the Ministry of Education/Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Devices and Systems, it aims to meet the urgent demand for talents in the field of intelligent perception engineering for technological innovation and strategic emerging industry development. With the help of the first-class faculty team, profound educational experience, and advanced research platform of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, it constructs a distinctive "artificial intelligence+X" new engineering talent training system. By leveraging the important spatial carrier advantage of intelligent perception landing in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, we will deepen cooperation with leading enterprises in fields such as artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing, and promote a new model of talent cultivation that integrates science, industry, education, research, and innovation with the core elements of "industry, academia, research, and innovation". To cultivate professional talents with intelligent sensor research and development, intelligent perception system design and analysis, and intelligent equipment integration and innovation capabilities for intelligent acquisition, processing, and application of information in fields such as robotics, aerospace, intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, and low altitude economy, providing strong talent support for industrial transformation, upgrading, and optimized development in the Greater Bay Area. In recent years, Shenzhen University has actively served the national strategy and economic and social development needs, combined with its own educational positioning and characteristics, continuously strengthened the construction of "four new" majors, optimized the structure of majors, consolidated the connotation of majors, and improved the level of professional construction and the quality of talent cultivation. The successful approval of the Intelligent Perception Engineering major at Shenzhen University will further promote the school's talent cultivation and technological innovation in the field of intelligent perception, improve the layout of new engineering majors, and demonstrate the mission and responsibility of Shenzhen University to serve major national strategies.
